Amino Acids' Role In Disease

Why Amino Acids

Amino acids are utilized by the cell to support biological pathways and functions, and are replenished from the diet, primarily through the creation of amino acids in the body.

In the context of many diseases, amino acid levels can become perturbed to a degree where the cell cannot compensate for the imbalance. This results in a disruption of cellular homeostasis.

When cellular homeostasis is perturbed for a period of time, whole organ systems can begin to break down, leading to a variety of diseases.
